So, what is this all about?

The initial  idea behind ‘Leirang‘ was to have an online collection of Manipuri recipes starting from the humble ‘kangsoi‘ to special dish like ‘chagem pomba’. But, this idea was abandoned in favour of a more ‘universal’ treasure trove of recipes culled from my family, friends, the net and other sources (acknowledged wherever possible).

Leirang – Manipuri for hearth – will be a melange of recipes from different cuisine – Manipuri, Bengali, Thai, Continental – well, you get the drift. All recipes would have been tried and tested – and more importantly tasted for verification! The aim would be to try out different recipes from different parts of the world to enrich the palate (and the plate!).

Apart from recipes, from time to time, i would endeavor to ‘explore’ the different aspects of Manipuri cuisine, the rich and varied vegetables and herbs, the unique food habits…

So join me on this culinary journey. All comments would be welcome – including criticisms, though constructive criticisms would be more preferred. Bon appetit!
